Scott Shapiro

Scott D. Shapiro, CPA, CGMA, Partner at Woodcliff Lake, NJ-based accounting and consulting services firm Weber, Shapiro & Company, LLP (WS & Co.), will join fellow members of the Alliott Group in a leadership role at the Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM) Amsterdam Global Mobility Conference scheduled for March 22, 2018 in The Netherlands. WS & Co. has been an active member of the Alliott Group, a leading international alliance of independent accounting, tax, and law firms, since 2015, reflecting the firm’s commitment to staying abreast of the latest accounting best practices to best serve its domestic and international clients.

Mr. Shapiro, along with member colleagues of the Alliott Group (Lead Sponsor of the event), has been involved in shaping the tax and legal content of the Global Mobility Conference. Providing a forum for Human Resources (HR) and global mobility managers to address the challenges presented by expatriate management in today’s international business world, the conference will bring together more than 160 global mobility professionals, industry experts, and HR specialists from 15 countries. Delegates from internationally focused businesses will discuss current trends in expatriate management and meet with leading suppliers to the sector.

With many changes occurring on the legal, tax, and immigration environment within and outside Europe, short-term assignees and business travellers have started to come onto the radar of tax and immigration authorities internationally on a more regular basis. Mr. Shapiro and other member experts of the Alliott Group will be sharing their insights during the conference into how easy it is to become non-compliant when assignees are moving across borders, often at short notice, even if only for business travel.

“As the international tax and accounting landscape becomes more and more complex, our firm continues to expand its participation in global events such as this conference to continue to strengthen our position as a trusted advisor of global tax and accounting services,” Mr. Shapiro said.

Mr. Shapiro and his fellow Alliott Group members will be available on exhibition stand B2 to speak to representatives from some of the world’s best-known companies and middle market enterprises about how they can assist them to set up and manage the interrelated tax, accounting, and legal aspects of their global mobility programs more effectively.
